Recently, Myra has started smacking her lips together each time we give her a kiss or if we make kissing sounds from across the room....makes us smile every time :D
Myra has been transitioning from having 3 to 2 naps during the day. However, because she reaches her 'staying awake' limit after about 2.5 hours, nighttime comes quickly. Today she was sleeping by 5:30 pm. Seems she might be a morning person - consistently wakes up at 6 or 6:30 am no matter what time I put her to bed. Last night she was having trouble sleeping and didn't settle till around 9 o'clock - woke up at 5:45 am - crazy girl!
I purchased a Mambo Moms workout video that I can do with Myra - lots of easy latin dancing and some floor exercises -- Myra LOVES it! My intention is to do it first thing after she wakes up though today I opted to clean her room instead.
Myra is slowly becoming more and more enthusiastic about solids. She has a strong aversion to apples, pears and bananas and will make gagging sounds for at least 30 seconds when given even the tiniest amount. Squash is her favorite and everything I give her now is mixed with squash. We tried cooked chicken breast this week and so far so good. Her limited menu so far includes: squash, rice cereal (in small amounts since she doesn't really like it), avocado, and chicken. Yogurt and sweet potatoes are next on the list.
Yay! for a happy growing baby! :D

One of the many reasons I have to be thankful today :D
Here's a video that Tim took of Myra playing a version of peek-a-boo. It's fun to see her purposefully re-covering her face in order to play it again. She just learned how to do that this week. A few times, I've put her down for a nap and thought she was sleeping...only to hear squealing coming from her room and finding her playing with a blanket this way all by herself. :D
Well, I'm off to bed. Hope you had an enjoyable American Thanksgiving Day :) We had the first "sticking" snowfall of the season.

Myropolis
The highlight of Tim's day today :D
An early birthday present :)
You know you're teething when you see your dad's big toe and decide it would make a good chew toy :D
(don't worry - we put a clean new sock on Tim's foot before letting Myra chew on it :) )
ooh! funny story :) ... So Tim's nickname for Myra is "Myropolis". The other day, Tim was holding Myra on the couch - she was standing on his legs, facing him and playing with the buttons on his shirt. Then, trying to get her attention, he started calling, "Hey Myra....Hey Myra...Hey Myra....(no response at all) ....Hey Myropolis (immediate eye contact)" LOL! We tried it a few more times with the same results. :) At least when it comes to Tim, Myra thinks her name is Myropolis.
(p.s.... the videos should play even if they show up black at first)

ADVENTURES IN SITTING
Myra has discovered the joy of sitting on the floor as opposed to laying on her back or stomach. She does fairly well sitting independently but those times still usually end with her in a more horizontal position. :D Here's a little video I took last night - she was so happy and hyper and excited .... I guess life is just grand when you're 6 months old and get to sit :D Enjoy!
