We had our final appointment with our midwives yesterday. It was a bittersweet feeling to say goodbye. Choosing Natasha and Shelley to walk alongside me throughout my pregnancy and delivery was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I loved the 45 minute appointments, their amazing support and kindness for my millions of questions, and the friendship, expertise and professionalism. I loved it that I could page them anytime if I had a concern and even though I ended up with a c-section, it was calming to know Shelley was staying with me. After Myra was born, they either phoned me or came to see me every day for the first 10 days. I am so grateful for their input and support in this life changing experience. (Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.) :)

Myra weighed in at 12 lbs 7 oz. and grew 5 cm in length since birth. I went to the Sears Portrait Studio after our appointment to redeem my free sitting fee and sheet of pictures, but as you can see below, Myra would not wake up no matter what we did. So we'll try again tomorrow.
In other news, we finally listed our condo with the Siebert Team. Now comes the season of needing to keep it spotless just in case a potential buyer wants to see it. Hopefully it won't take too long to sell. If any of you have a burning desire to do housework just give me a call :)

I'm DEFINATELY having a midwife next time. Especially because now I'm considered 'high risk.' Do they visit/have contact with you frequently during pregnancy? What kinds of things are they able to check? How do I find a good one?
Anyway, thanks for your insightful comment on my blog about my incision. When I went to see the plastic surgeon in Jan. about this same problem he said the same 2 year wait thing. But now it's definately 'growing' and has turned into a keloid, so my doc is sending me back (end of the month.) I do have a special bandage to keep the pressure on it, which helps - but not when I exercise or do heavy lifting. It's interesting that we both have more pain on the right side...I wonder why...? Not sure how to contact you other than replying to your comment here. You can check out bcmidwives.com - I chose Moonwater Birthing and Wellness Center. I think the best way to find a good midwife is through word or mouth and referrals ...I didn't have any of these but I'm so happy with my choice and would recommend them. I saw them once a month till 28 weeks then every other week till 36 weeks and then every week after that. Each appointment was 30-45 minutes long. They provide full prenatal care and will consult with other specialists as needed. I don't think midwives are able to take high risk pregnancies but it's worth checking out.
