HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It's hard to believe that one year ago today I went from being chronically depressed and miserable to being so so so relieved and happy to not be pregnant anymore! :D and of course to be able to see and hold Myra for the first time -- it was such a good day!

My "Myra" tree -- it was outside my hospital window and so pretty.

Our friends Katie and Alan came over for supper to help us celebrate the big day - I realized afterwards that we didn't get any pictures together with them, which was kind of dumb - sorry guys! We loved that you could be here with us!

Myra's feast....blueberry yogurt and meatballs (beef, sweet potato, baby cereal, and wheat germ) - Mmmm! (not) :D

Our feast ... pizza, pop, and chips. "Just what you would expect at a kid's birthday party" - Tim.

Cake time! - well...it was actually mint chocolate cream pie :D

I love how she was so mesmerized by the flames :)

Opening presents...

Yay! Ferrari! :D

Thanks everyone for the Happy Birthday phone calls - even though Myra doesn't really get it, it was so nice to hear from family! :D

I've been feeling very aware lately of how quickly things change and that I really need to cherish the moments I have with Myra - at night when I wake up with her - I try to etch into my memory what it feels like to hold her close and to have her head snuggled into my neck - it's one of my favorite things :D

I'm looking forward to all the new things we're going to experience together this next year ...like swing sets and sandboxes and learning to talk... etc.

it's gonna be great!

Cuddles

On Thursday of last week, we were so tired from all our adventures the days before that Anita and I stayed back with the kids while the guys headed to Tampa Bay for a few hours. We enjoyed long naps and playing in the outdoor pools, as well as, a late afternoon cuddle :D

This is a common scene at our place now too since Myra is sick and just wants to be held - which I don't really mind too much. :D Poor girl - she's feeling so out of sorts, she walks around the house whining and cries at every little thing - like going from standing to sitting down on her butt. Plus, her fatigue affects her balance so she keeps falling down - oh! the tears :(

TONS of Pictures!

Tuesday was Typhoon Lagoon Day. It's a huge water park that is part of Disney World...huge wave pool with massive waves, crazy water slides, a relaxing tube ride around the whole park, and a large kiddie area complete with lots of pool chairs and sand to set up camp. We don't have very many pictures of this day since we left our camera at the condo but man was it ever fun! Once again we had sunshine and heat - we loved it!! Myra loved loved loved splashing around in the water :D and was her ever cute self.

Then on Wednesday we spent 10+ hours at Magic Kingdom. We had a little map of the area and had planned out our day the evening before -- first thing to do was to take the train around the park to Adventure Land and ride Big Thunder Mountain.

It was a bit of a hassle to get ourselves up to the train ramp in the first place and then when we got to the boarding area we were informed that the strollers would need to be collapsed in order to ride. In anticipation of a loooonnnng day at Magic Kingdom - our strollers were loaded down with bags and items we might need during the day. So we missed the train and headed back down the ramp with full intentions of complaining to a crew member about how inconvenient this was. ...and that is when we got these....

Dream Fast Passes! :D How it works is that certain rides have a "fast pass" option. You take your admission ticket and put it in a machine and it gives you a card with an hour time bracket on there - basically it's like someone is holding your place in line and you return between a certain time and get to walk right up to the attraction with hardly any waiting time. You can only have one fast pass at a time. Well!...with a dream fast pass - we had fast passes to all eligible fast pass rides at once and could choose anytime throughout the day to use them. Myra and Nate got fast passes too, which was funny cause they don't even need a ticket, so we got to enjoy some rides more than once. It made for such a fun day - minimal waiting in line and other crew members when they saw us would congratulate us on our fast passes :D

Here are some snapshots of our day...

Baby ducks in the bushes - so cute!

Myra enjoying a play area while Anita and I went down Splash Mountain.

Nap time.

Hanging out with Nate while Ian and Anita rode Space Mountain.

Cuteness!

Later in the day we decided to park the strollers and ride the train around the entire park.

Myra mastering the camel-back. By the end of the day she would reach for the hose herself and bring it to her mouth for a drink. :D

Waiting in line for the Jungle Cruise ride.

One of my favourite parts of the day was taking Myra on the "Small World" attraction. She was mezmorized by all the lights and singing.

Both Nate and Myra seemed to enjoy the ride so much that Anita and I decided to take them on a second time while the guys went on another ride. This time they knew what to expect - Nate squealed so loudly as the ride started - it was really funny!

Here's a video of Myra enjoying the ride ...it's quite dark but you can see she's signing "light" just like Auntie Rosanna taught her. :D

Monday's Memories

Wow! What a fun week!!! I'm sorry I didn't keep my promise of blogging every day :( By the time I finally had some free moments at the end of each day, I was too tired to do anything but crawl into bed myself. Sorry!
Will cute pictures make up for it? :D

Monday was an easy-going, relaxing kind of day. We slept in, enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool, did some outlet mall shopping and ended the day with Fish and Chips at Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island. The forecast called for scattered showers and thunder storms - lucky us - we had sunshine and heat the whole week! :D

Splish! Splash!

(trying out the kiddie pool)

"Did you know that they have lizards here!! I'm so excited!" - Tim

Downtown Disney

Myra decided she was sick and tired of sitting in her stroller and needed to walk. Fortunately, for the most part, she was content to push the stroller which made it easy to keep track of her :D

Nate and Myra enjoying each other's company :D

Now I'm going to enjoy a short mid-morning nap while I can :D
Wishing all of you moments of laughter in your day today!
